How it works.

Three steps, about 15 minutes of your time.

  1. Answer 5 quick questions.

So Claire knows where you’re at before she calls.

  2. Claire calls you at the time you pick.

It takes about 15 minutes, by phone, wherever you are in New Zealand.

  3. You’ll know where you stand.

Which fund you’re in, whether it fits your timeframe, and your options. No pressure to move anything.

Who this is for.

If one of these sounds like you, the call is worth it.

  • You used KiwiSaver for your first home.

And whatever’s left is still sitting in the same fund it was in for the deposit.

  • Your first employer set it up.

You picked a fund years ago, or it was picked for you, and it’s never been looked at since.

  • You’re 10 to 20 years from retirement.

When fund choice starts to matter most.

  • You’re not sure which fund you’re in.

Very common, and a good reason for a chat.

  • You’re self employed.

And contributing on your own, without an employer keeping an eye on it.

Why Sheehan Financial.

Independent, so there’s no one company to push.

We’re an independently owned advice firm in Nelson, and we work with clients right across New Zealand by phone.

  • Independent.

We compare across a wide range of providers. Often the right answer is to change nothing.

  • You can ask anything.

You don’t need to know the terms. Bring the questions you think are basic.

  • We stick around.

Clients get an annual review, so things keep up as life changes.

  • Independence isn’t a slogan here.

Fair questions.

The ones people ask before they book.

Who will I talk to?

Claire Corbysmith, Senior Financial Adviser. She’s been in the industry for over a decade, five years with Sheehan Financial.

Is this a sales call?

No. It’s a check on whether your fund still fits. Plenty of people leave the call changing nothing.

Do I have to be in Nelson?

No. The chat is by phone and we work with clients right across New Zealand.

How long does it take?

About 15 minutes.

What will you ask me?

Your timeframe, what you’re saving for now, and how you’d feel if your balance dipped in a bad year.

Do I need to know anything about KiwiSaver first?

No. Bring your questions, including the ones you think are basic.

Do I need my balance or provider details?

Handy if you have them, not essential. Your provider’s app usually shows both.

Can my partner join?

Yes, and it saves you passing everything on after.

What happens after the call?

If it makes sense to go further, we’ll book a proper meeting and look at your details properly. If not, you’ll still know where you stand.

Will you move my KiwiSaver for me?

Only if you decide to, after you’ve seen the options and the reasons.

Which providers do you work with?

A wide range, including Booster, Fisher Funds, Generate, Milford, AMP, ANZ and the others listed in our disclosure statement.

How do you get paid?

If you move your KiwiSaver through us, the provider pays us a trail commission of up to 0.50% a year. If you invest through us, there’s generally a fee of 0.25% to 0.75%.

Claire will explain what applies to you before you decide anything. It’s all set out in our disclosure statement.

I reviewed it recently.

You might not need this. If something has changed since (a house, a baby, a new job), it’s worth 15 minutes.

Are you tied to one company?

No. We’re independently owned and compare across a wide range of providers.
